Gabriel Network (formerly Gabriel Project)

The Gabriel Project has been established to give practical help to women in crisis pregnancy situations. Gabriel Project volunteers take care of the immediate needs of their clients - food, clothing, transportation, shelter and professional counseling. "We begin by addressing practical needs first" explains former Director Jim Sharbaugh, the project's Maryland state director. "Once you address the practical needs, you move on to the emotional and spiritual needs."

The Gabriel Project offers several ways to get involved:

    • Angel Friend to befriend an expecting mom
    • Coordinator to help administer the local church effort
    • Donor to assist with her material needs
    • Mechanic to fix her car when needed
    • Prayer supporter to assist her spiritual needs
    • several weeks; long term: average three to nine months

"No room at the Inn."

Joseph had to find a place to stay for Mary to give birth to Jesus, but there was no room. After Bethlehem, they were refugees in the land of Egypt. Where did they stay? Many pregnant women need shelter during their pregnancy and until they can become independent again. But few are the families who are willing to provide shelter for them. Fear drives women to abortion clinics. Fear keeps people from opening their homes. Please pray and consider if you could provide a Shepherding Home. When we provide shelter for these moms, we provide shelter for Jesus. " .I was a stranger and you welcomed me . . 'Truly I say to you as you did it to the least of my brethren, you did it to Me.'" (Matt 25:36,40)
