Pastor Dotty Schmitt
Amazed By Grace

by Dotty Schmitt

Recently I returned from Mexico where the “Awake Deborah” team (Brenda Kilpatrick, Dianne Sloan, Lila Terhune and myself) had the privilege of being a part of a marvelous team of Mexican women. Together we were privileged to minister strategically to the women of that awakening nation, as more than 5,000 women gathered together from all over the country. Many of these were women who had served Mexico and wept over it for years. And did the Lord ever meet us! The rivers of revival are running throughout Mexico and I will never be the same for having been there!

During the first few days of my return home, I could only weep in God's Presence with overwhelming gratitude to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this most awesome hour. Our Lord Jesus is determinedly moving by His Spirit all over the earth, as He is presently gathering to Himself a people from every tribe and language and culture. And all together we are crying out – “Worthy is the Lamb!”

It seemed as if every time I would speak of our time in Mexico I would begin to weep. During one of our Pastoral staff meetings at Immanuel's one of our pastors looked at me and asked what it was that so impacted me while I was in Mexico. All I could say was I saw Jesus in a new way! It was Jesus who more intimately revealed Himself to me in the faces of my Mexican brothers and sisters!

I found myself stunned by God's incredible grace and by the magnitude of His moving to capture and win this nation to Himself. A river of Life has opened in Mexico and we were privileged to observe and to participate in some small measure in what God was doing.

During those days together God's Presence was strongly manifested in the worship and praise. Our response to God's Presence among us was simply to yield and to receive from Him even more than before. The Lord powerfully drew us to love Him and to adore Him. The praise and worship and fervent prayers gave us an open heaven through which the power of God was released to save, deliver, fill and heal!

There were two laws of the kingdom that I saw powerfully in operation in the lives of many of our Mexican brothers and sisters. One was the power of giving. These saints are learning how to break the cycle of poverty; they are learning to give to the Lord materially. Out of this grace also came the beauty of serving. Our “Awake Deborah” team was overwhelmed to see the joyful serving one of another, as well as of ourselves. These saints demonstrated such a spirit of excellence in both their giving and in their serving that it changed my life!

During one of our sessions one of our precious Mexican sisters, Tita Bremer, delivered a most powerful message on the power of His Name. The Name of Jesus is above every name. His power so accompanied this Word that many of us were transformed. Amazingly, it is only in His Presence that there is an impartation of revelation to the heart; and as truth is deposited deep in the inward parts, we are permanently changed.

I returned home with a quiet peace in my heart that came from a greater revelation and understanding of the love and the power and the authority of Jesus. He is Lord of everything, and Lord of all nations! I can therefore trust Him to meet my personal needs, my family needs, and my financial needs out of the riches of who He is and what He has accomplished on the cross. In every practical area of my life, Jesus has taken me to a higher level of trust and obedience because I saw Him in a beautiful and powerful way moving through my precious brothers and sisters in the land of Mexico! Indeed, the Lamb is worthy of all praise!
