"CONFESSING DAILY
GOD’S PROMISES AND HIS EXPECTATIONS"
—May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord….”—Psalm 19:14
─ by Charles P. Schmitt
SUNDAY
Thank you, O Lord, that you are not a man that You should ever lie. When You speak, You will act. When You promise You will fulfill Your promises! (Numbers 23:19) and now I do receive the blessing given to Abraham coming into my life through Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:14). I praise you, O Lord, that You do bless me and that I will be a blessing and that all peoples on earth will be blessed through me (Genesis 12:2-3)! I thank You that You give me the ability to produce wealth, and so confirm Your covenant with Abraham and with me (Deuteronomy 8:18)! I thank You that I am blessed in the city and blessed in the country; my children are blessed; I am blessed when I come in and blessed when I go out. Thank You that the enemies who rise up against me will be defeated before me. Though they will come at me from one direction, they will flee from me in seven. Thank You that You send a blessing on everything I put my hand to. Thank You that You will grant me abundant prosperity, and that You will open the heavens, the storehouse of Your bounty, to bless all the work of my hands. Thank You that I will lend to many but borrow from none. Thank You that You will make me the head and not the tail, and that as I carefully follow Your commands, I will always be at the top, never at the bottom (Deuteronomy 28:3-13).
MONDAY
Thank You that as I obey Your Word I will be prosperous and successful (Joshua 1:8)! I praise You, O Lord, that all these promises of God in Christ are yea, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God! (2 Corinthians 1:20). I bless You, O Lord, that he who gives to the poor will lack nothing (Proverbs 28:27), and that he who has regard for the weak is blessed, and the Lord delivers him in times of trouble—protecting him and preserving his life and blessing him (Psalm 41:1-2)! Thank You that as I scatter abroad my gifts to the poor, my righteousness will endure forever (Psalm 112:9), and I will store up for myself unfailing treasures in heaven
(Luke 12:32-34).
TUESDAY
Holy Father, I do bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in Your house. And I do test You in this, Lord Almighty, to see You throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that I will not have room enough for it (Malachi 3:10). A tithe of everything belongs to You, O Lord; it is holy to You, Lord (Leviticus 27:30, 32), and so I do honor You, Lord, with my wealth, with the firstfruits of all You have blessed me with. And I believe my life will be filled to overflowing and burst with blessings! (Proverbs 3:9-10). You are a God who keeps His promises and, in obedience, I claim these very promises from Your hand!
WEDNESDAY
I thank You, O Lord, that I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). I thank You for Your promise that You will meet all my needs according to Your glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). I thank You that I shall prosper and be in health, even as my soul prospers. (3 John 2).
THURSDAY
I praise You that as I seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE GIVEN TO ME AS WELL, so that I need not worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:33-34)! In faith I give, believing that it will be given to me—a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over. For with the measure I use, it will be measured to me (Luke 6:38). And Lord, by Your grace, I will give with a generous measure!
FRIDAY
Lord, thank You that Your divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Thank You that You have given us Your very great and precious promises, so that through them we may partake in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires—including greed (2 Peter 1:3-4).
SATURDAY
Thank You, dear Lord, that You became poor, so that through Your poverty I might become rich. You love a cheerful giver! By Your grace I will be one who sows cheerfully and generously, assured that I will also reap generously. I thank You that You are able to make all grace abound to me, so that in all things at all times, having all that I need, I will abound in every good work. Thank You that I will be made rich in every way so that I can be generous on every occasion and that this generosity will result in thanksgiving to God (2 Corinthians 8:9; 9:6-11). And You are worthy, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power … Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth, and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise. All praise and honor and glory and power are Yours forever and ever! Amen!
(Revelation 4:11, 5:12-14)
