A Sunday Announcement: As soon as we posted on our Billboard that we we receiving donations for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, someone from the neighborhood came to the front desk and dropped off a check for $500.

Letters from children giving a helping hand!

Letter #1

Dear Immanuel's Church,

My name is Faith Twigg. I am 14 years old. Today we decided to raise money for the hurrican victims by having a lemonade and cookie stand in from of our house. When I say we, I mean me, my sister, Paige, and our friend, Jill. So I hope this will help even though it's not much, and enjoy your Labor Day.

Letter #2

Dear Immanuel's Church,

Here is some more money that we have raised selling lemonade and cookies in front of our house. It's a lot of fun to get all of our friends together, that live around us and sell the things to make money for Katrina victims.

However, today our friend, as well as our helper, Noah, got punched at our park across the street. Some random guys in their mid - early 20's came in a car. One got out, punched Noah and left. But, that didn't get our hopes down, we still sold $66.84 worth of lemonade & cookies (that were homemade).

So we ask that you pray for Noah to get well soon, he has a hurt nose (it was bloody), and a very hurt elbow, so thanks again!

Dear Immanuel's Church,

Here is some more money for the Katrina victims. There is an even $45.00. This is once again from selling lemonade and cookies.

Noah has been doing well, he found out he fractured his arm, so now he has a splint on it and a sling to hold it up. We ask that you continue to pray for him,

Hi, my name is Paige Twigg. On September 5, we had a lemonade sale and made 30 dollars. We gave it to the church to give to the Katrina victims so today we did the same thing and made 75 dollars.
