Holding on to the Faithfulness of God

GOD'S VIEW:
John 1:29 ; 1 Cor. 5:7 -Lamb without blemish pictures Jesus sinless life, blood sprinkled on door posts pictures His blood shed for the believer, eating of lamb pictures need for spiritual nourishment gained by feeding on Christ, the Bread of Life, and the unleavened bread pictures the need for putting evil out of one's life and household.

HOPE:
l Pet. 1:18-19 ; Exo. 29:38-39 ; Isa. 53:6-7 ; Rev. 5:6 ;7:9 ;12:11 -The Lamb is a picture of Christ, the perfect Lamb of God without sin upon whom the sins of the people were placed, Who bore the judgment of sin, and the One sacrificed for sin. Thus, one is completely redeemed from their sins by simply believing and having faith in God's word that He would remove the sins. The "Lamb of God" is not of man but of God. Forgiveness and salvation come from God's grace and not from man's resources and works.

Eph. 1:4-6 ; John 14:15 ;15:16-17;16:7-15; Acts 2:1-4 ; Rom. 8:1-17 -Christ is the One who baptizes believers with the Holy Spirit, and it is the person who receives the Spirit of God that has the presence and care of God looking over his life. By faith, we are to drop-off our old life immediately and start the new life in Christ for it is He who is our life who will guide and direct us if we let Him.

John 8:12 ;10:27 ;12:26 ; Hosea 6:3 -A person must stand where the word is preached, he must hear and understand the word and he must follow Jesus, then he will be blessed with every spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in order to live and face life victoriously, and to walk in light and not in darkness.

CHANGE:
Acts 17:27 ; Deut. 4:29 ; Isa. 55:6 ; Jere. 29:13 -No longer looking for answers by human reasonings, by interpreting the past, by blaming others, by others failing us or not meeting our needs. We are now to change our perspective on life and seeing things as God does which is to help establish His principles on earth to obtain justice, mercy, and to walk humbly doing so.

Eph. 1:18-19 ; 1 Pet. 2:9-10 ; Rom. 8:28-29 -Studying the word and learning of Jesus, we would see and learn the truth of life. That all evil that was done to me or that I committed, all the unfairness and injustices of life, if I faced these evils God's way, evil would serve to my benefit and advantage because it would conform me to the image of Christ, that is, dying to my self needs to meet the needs of others.

Lu. 9:23 ; John 1:12 ; Prov. 11:30 -Putting aside self-interest, self-pity, and self-righteousness, seeking to find my own peace and joy, I die to self, making self wholly controlled by the Holy Spirit for the purpose of winning souls as Christ lives in and through me. Self would be changed from a self-centered, defensive, overbearing and carnal person into a strong, immovable and unbreakable rock of God.

Memory/Meditation/Prayer :
Rom. 8:28-29 .
Devotions :
BSAF on 1 Cor. 5:17 , 21 ; Eph. 4:24 ; Prov. 11:30 ; Dan. 12:3
Put-off and put-on: List areas in which you focused on your self, the hurts and pains of the past, what others have done to you or failed you, and did not meet your needs. Then list the attempts you made to reconcile the situation-all areas in which you thought and acted without reference to God and His word.
On the basis of your findings, reinterpret your actions in the light of God's word, and describe how you would now deal with your life. Set up a plan of action using one priority problem you are now facing. In addition to the principles listed herein, see Rom. 12:9-21 ; 1 Pet. 3:8-18 ; 2 Pet. 1:3-11 as guides.
